Nziza started Kinara in December 2020 with one employee and a clear position — Tanzania had the timber, the skill, and the tradition. It did not need to import its furniture.
His interest in design came early. He could see the gap between what Tanzanian craftsmen were capable of and what the market thought they were worth. Kinara was the answer.
The company has grown steadily — from one craftsman to a team of 22, from residential work in Dar es Salaam to full hotel procurement across Tanzania. The standard has not changed.

Mninga, Wenge, and Teak — sourced within Tanzania. No MDF, no composites. We currently source kiln-dried timber and are commissioning our own wood kiln, operational September 2026.

Every Kinara piece receives a lacquer finish — not oil, not paint. Lacquer is harder, more durable, and performs better in Tanzania's climate. Applied in controlled conditions and sanded between coats. The result is a surface that stays right for years, not months.
Lead times depend on the size and complexity of the order. A single piece moves quickly. A hotel fit-out needs a proper schedule — we plan that with you from the start.
